Gary Fetter

An assistant professor at Western Carolina University, prior to coming to WCU, I completed my Ph.D. at Virginia Tech and worked in information technology and operations in higher education, industry, and government settings.

This Fall semester 2010, in addition to working on research projects, I'm teaching two courses: Production and Operations Management and Decision Making II.

Production and Operations Management, which I taught last Spring semester 2010, studies the processes directly related to producing and distributing goods and services. This course discusses methods for analyzing processes, ensuring quality, creating organizational value, and managing the flow of information, products and services across a network of customers, enterprises and supply chain partners.

Decision Making II is an introduction into the concepts and application of quantitative methods used to support managerial decision making. While much of Decision Making I is focused on descriptive statistics, probability theory, and stastical inference, Decision Making II builds on these concepts and introduces others, such as, regression, linear programming, and statistical process control methods.

Fall 2010 Office Hours: TBA later in August or by appointment.
